Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines define what is allowed on ChoiceLens and how moderation decisions are made.
ChoiceLens is a platform for opinions, not facts. Participation is a privilege, not a right.
1. Purpose of these guidelines
Our goal is to provide a space where people can:
- Share opinions through polls and responses
- View aggregated community sentiment
- Participate without harassment, threats, or abuse
We prioritize platform safety and integrity over unrestricted expression.
2. What content is allowed
The following is generally allowed:
- Opinion-based polls and responses
- Civil disagreement and debate
- Political, social, cultural, and personal viewpoints
- Satire and humor (when not abusive)
- Anonymous participation
Allowed content may still be moderated if it creates risk or harm.
3. What content is NOT allowed
The following content is prohibited and may result in removal or enforcement action:
a) Hate and harassment
- Attacks against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics
- Slurs, demeaning language, or dehumanizing content
- Targeted harassment or bullying
b) Violence and threats
- Threats of physical harm
- Promotion or glorification of violence
- Encouragement of self-harm
c) Sexual exploitation and abuse
- Sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance)
- Non-consensual sexual content
- Sexual exploitation or coercion
d) Illegal activity
- Content promoting or facilitating illegal acts
- Instructions for committing crimes
- Fraud, scams, or impersonation
e) Privacy violations
- Doxxing or sharing private personal information
- Content intended to expose or endanger individuals
f) Manipulation and abuse of the platform
- Vote manipulation or coordinated inauthentic behavior
- Spam, bots, or automated submissions
- Attempts to bypass safeguards or moderation systems
4. Anonymous content
Anonymous participation is allowed. However, anonymity does not shield users from moderation or enforcement.
Anonymous content is held to the same standards as identified content.
5. Reporting content
Users may report content they believe violates these guidelines.
- Reports are reviewed at our discretion
- Reporting does not guarantee removal
- False or abusive reports may result in enforcement
6. Moderation philosophy
We act as moderators, not editors.
This means:
- We do not pre-approve content
- We do not endorse user opinions
- We intervene when necessary to protect users or the platform
Moderation decisions are contextual and may consider:
- Severity of harm
- Pattern of behavior
- Legal or safety risk
- Platform integrity
7. Enforcement actions
We may take any action we deem appropriate, including:
- Content removal
- Content restriction or visibility reduction
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account or access ban
Actions may be taken without notice.
8. No right to appeal
Moderation decisions are final.
We are not obligated to:
- Explain decisions
- Provide warnings
- Offer an appeals process
This helps ensure timely and consistent enforcement.
9. No endorsement disclaimer
Content on ChoiceLens reflects the views of individual users only.
We do not:
- Verify accuracy
- Endorse opinions
- Guarantee fairness or balance
10. Changes to these guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines at any time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
